27th Sep – 1st Oct 2022

This Iceland Photo Tour has been planned with the photographer right in the center, we’ll go where the light is at it’s best or getting you to where you’ll have clear skies to watch and photograph the Aurora Borealis. Although we are working from a fixed itinerary, do not despair, it won’t be a case of getting 15 minutes to photograph each location, we’ll have plenty of time to explore the areas and if we’re driving down the road and you spot something you like, if safe to do so, I will stop!

Each day we will be on location before sunrise and shooting all day until after sunset.

As with all my Iceland Photo Tours & Workshops I like to keep the numbers small, and this photo tour is limited to only five people! This allows me to spend more one on one time with you, helping you with any questions you may have.

Transport for the week will be a 9 mini bus or similar.

Iceland Photo Tour

Your Guide

Photographer, Light Chaser, Aurora Guide, Web Dev, Biker, Daddy and I’ve got a very understanding girlfriend in no particular order.

There is no fixed daily itinerary on my Iceland Photography Tour. I like to work with the weather as much as possible and visit locations based on the current weather conditions. I want to maximise our chances of going home with great images!

The tour will start and end at Keflavik, Iceland (KEF). When looking at flights, please arrive no later than 3PM on arrival day.

If you need to travel the day before, please let me know and I can collect you from your accommodation in the Reykjavik area.

Over the duration of the tour, we will be photographing at every opportunity we can get. We’ll be getting up early every morning (regardless of weather) to be on location 1 hour before sunrise, after each sunrise shoot we’ll head for breakfast before heading to our next location.

Each sunset location, we’ll be there roughly 2 hours before so that we can each scope out our sunset composition.

On the final evening, we’ll head out for our final meal together where we can look back on our amazing week together.

Day 1 – Arrival Day

This is the arrival day, I’ll be collecting everyone from the airport. We’ll be shooting sunset at Valahnúkamöl.

Day 2 – 4

This is where the real adventure begins. We’ll be shooting from sunrise to sunset with Northern Lights at night (clear skies prevailing).

We’ll be exploring all of what the south coast has to offer, from black sand beaches to waterfalls to the diamond beach.

Day 5 – Departure day

Goodbyes are forever, I’ll be saying see you later as I hope you’ll join me on another adventure. We’ll head to the airport where everyone can catch their flights home.

NOTE: If the Meradalir eruption is declared over, day 2 will be supplemented with a day trip to the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, and the day 4 will be supplemented with a trip to a few locations near the Golden Circle (Hraunfossar, Brúarfoss & Gullfoss).

Places we’ll visit

  • Meradalir Eruption Site
  • Skógafoss
  • Kvernufoss
  • Dyrhólaey
  • Reynisfjara
  • Vik Black Sand Beach
