Booking Terms & Conditions

It is ESSENTIAL that you read the following terms & conditions before making a booking. Making a booking on a workshop indicates to me that you have read these full terms & conditions and that you agree to these terms & conditions.

General Disclaimer

Chasing Light Tours offers guided photography tours and workshops, and they have been designed with the photographer at the heart and they’re suited to all types of photographers from beginners to the more advanced.

My photography tours and workshops will operate regardless of weather.  Some locations may not be visited as well due to bad weather conditions.  By booking onto a photography tour or workshop, you accept that refunds are not offered for poor weather.

Covid 19

If your workshop or tour has to be cancelled due to COVID-19 you will be offered a FULL REFUND or you can transfer to another trip.

All guests self-declare they are Covid 19 Free before departure and I will take a temperature check on arrival.

I use spacious private vehicles. There will be a seat free in the middle so as to have ample room and I will ensure each guest uses the same seat for the duration of the our.

Face masks are mandatory when travelling inside our vehicle and when outside, only to be used when in close proximity to either myself or other guests.

Our transport & accommodation will be wiped down/cleaned on a daily basis.

It is mandatory that you bring your own hand sanitiser and use it on regular basis.

Booking & Payment Terms

To secure your spot on my photography tour or workshop, you can either pay the deposit or the full balance. By doing so, you enter into a contract to pay the full balance 60 days prior to the tour or workshop date. If you choose not to make the final payment and do not notify me, you are still responsible for paying the remaining balance.

By law, you have a 14-day cooling off period during which you can cancel your booking and receive a full refund, including your deposit. However, after this period, the deposit becomes non-refundable. This is because the deposit covers initial expenses such as accommodation, transport, and administration.

Cancellation Policy

In case you need to cancel your spot on the workshop, you have two options. Firstly, I can offer you a place on a future workshop, or alternatively, you can request a refund according to my refund policy mentioned below.

It’s important that you contact me as soon as possible regarding your situation. This will allow me to advertise the vacant spot to someone else and also facilitate your registration onto another course.

In the unlikely scenario that the workshop does not have the required number of participants to run, I reserve the right to cancel it up to 30 days in advance. In such a situation, I can either offer you a place on a future workshop or refund all the payments, including the deposit.

Please note that if you do not attend the workshop without prior notice, I am unable to provide a refund or offer a spot on another course.

Refund Policy

I am unable to offer refunds in the case of unforeseen weather events during a tour or workshop. However, I do have a refund policy in place for cancellations made by participants, based on the timeline provided below:

  • Cancellation made over 60 days before the workshop start date: Full refund, excluding the deposit.
  • Cancellation made within 45 days of the workshop start date: 75% refund.
  • Cancellation made within 30 days of the workshop start date: 50% refund.
  • Cancellation made less than 30 days before the workshop start date: No refund.

In the event that I am able to rebook your spot, I will refund your deposit to you.

Please note that any refunds will be issued via the same method as the original payment and will be processed within 30 days from the cancellation date. I regret to inform you that I am unable to offer refunds for any accommodation, travel, or other costs incurred by delegates due to a cancellation. It is essential that you have travel insurance to cover any additional travel expenses.

Health & Safety, Liability, Insurances

Chasing Light Tours will always endeavour to act in your best interests.

Chasing Light Tours does not accept liability for any loss of camera equipment, personal possessions, valuables, bodily injury, illness, accidents, injuries, carelessness, negligence, lack of fitness, punctuality or death.

Whilst every effort is made to ensure your safety and well-being, workshops may and frequently do involve travel in remote locations during the day & night where medical, refreshment, toilet facilities are not readily accessible and/or available. All bookings are accepted on the basis and understanding that you appreciate any potential risks and hazards.

All customers are responsible for ensuring they have the correct insurances in place.

Each workshop requires different types of equipment. Please see each individual workshop requirements for a list of equipment needed.

Weather

Unfortunately Chasing Light Tours is unable to control the weather. Regardless of conditions, we will stay out as long as it is completely safe to do so. If the weather on the date of a night sky workshop is to be 70% or more cloud cover then we may need to be flexible to allow the day before or after the workshop date. If they are not suitable then the workshop will be rescheduled for another week.

If this workshop date is the only date that suits you, then we can still continue the workshop under cloud cover, and I guarantee that you will still come away with fantastic images, the knowledge and the ability to shoot beautiful night sky images – this is completely up to the student to decide.
